Ammunition (informally ammo) is the material fired, scattered, dropped or detonated from any weapon. Ammunition is both expendable weapons (e.g., bombs, missiles, grenades, land mines) and the component parts of other weapons that create the effect on a target (e.g., bullets and warheads). Nearly all mechanical weapons require some form of ammunition to operate.

The purpose of ammunition is to project a force against a selected target to have an effect (usually, but not always, lethal). The most iconic example of ammunition is the firearm cartridge, which includes all components required to deliver the weapon effect in a single package.

Ammunition comes in a great range of sizes and types and is often designed to work only in specific weapons systems. However, there are internationally recognized standards for certain ammunition types (e.g., 5.56x45mm NATO) that enable their use across different weapons and by different users. There are also specific types of ammunition that are designed to have a specialized effect on a target, such as armor-piercing shells and tracer ammunition, used only in certain circumstances. Ammunition is commonly colored in a specific manner to assist in the identification and to prevent the wrong ammunition types from being used accidentally.

Ammo types

Ammo types does matter in YouTube Poop multiverse because different ammo types sometimes provides different effects.

Primary ammo types can be either lethal or non-lethal.

Most firearm ammunition in both YouTube Poop and real-life are lethal, meaning it can kill humans when used against them, for example, the 6.8mm SPC, used by R-301 Carbine and 40x46mm (High explosive), used by both Grenade Launcher and Double-Barrel Grenade Launcher are lethal to humans.

The casing color for standard lethal rounds is gold.

Non-lethal rounds are ammo types commonly used by police departments where lethal rounds could be unacceptable in most cases. Non-lethal rounds are mostly made of rubber though other materials can be used.

Tranquilizer smoke grenades, non-lethal rounds and blunt impact projectiles (BIP) are examples of non-lethal weapons used for crowd control and even counter-terrorism.

The 7.62x51mm NL, 9x19mm NL and 12 gauge NL shotgun slugs are examples of non-lethal firearm cartridges, all manufactured by Lastimosa Armory in Titanfall universe.

The casing color for non-lethal rounds is blue.

Secondary types can be applied on top of primary types.

Armor-piercing rounds are ammunition, for small arms, designed for against enemies with Fortnite shields and a body armor and for grenade launchers and missile launchers, against tanks and heavy aircrafts.

Titanhammer missile (Armor-piercing) is an example for armor-piercing missile launcher ammo.

The casing color for armor-piercing rounds is black, as well as projectile itself.

Incendiary ammo sets anything flammable on fire, making it effective crowd control weapon when surface is flammable.

Molotov cocktail is an example of incendiary weapon, dealing heat DoT to nearby enemies.

The casing color for incendiary rounds is orange.

Hematic ammo can effectively kill Beached Things (BTs), can be either lethal or non-lethal, but mostly lethal. Also, hematic rounds can deliver damage approximately 1.1x the standard lethal rounds.

Hematic grenades, as well as anti-BT handguns and it's rifle equivalent are examples of lethal anti-BT weapons, dealing chemical DoT to living targets breathing vaporized blood and effectively killing BTs.

EX grenades and non-lethal blood-coated rounds are examples of non-lethal anti-BT weapons, dealing lethal damage to BTs and does not kill living things.

The casing color for hematic rifle cartridge is silver while bullet color is red.

Chiralium rounds flies in straight line path due to chiralium's unique properties and can hit phased out enemies. Chiralium rounds are also a lethal anti-BT weapon.

12 gauge shotgun slug (Chiralium rounds), 12 gauge buckshot (Chiralium rounds) and chiralium-coated 7.62x51mm rounds are examples of chiralium ammunition.

The casing color for chiralium rounds is similar to standard lethal rounds.
